Prelimaries - (Prelims)

Another document that will help complete your tender package!

The preliminaries section of a building contract can be used to summarise non specific build sections of the project, but that your builder must include within their price, as they will have to manage and liase throughout the project for it to run smoothly.

In this document you can cover details such as:

  • the architect
  • building control officer
  • insurances
  • tool and plant hire
  • protecting parts of your propert
  • good practices
  • health and safety
  • use of your water & power

As with most parts in a building contract, it is advisable to cover all the bases, include this in your contract! If you do not wish the bulider to use your water or electricity, this is where you should detail it, they can then price accordingly to bring a water bowser in and a generator.
