First Fix Electrics

Provide a plan to your electrician showing where you require your sockets, switches, light fittings etc – if you do these places yourself, make sure that you provide a legend relating to your drawing making sure that it is clear where you may want double sockets, heights of sockets and switches, dimmer switches, pendant light fittings. If you are having a kitchen or other large appliances, make sure you note at this stage what they are – your electrician will be able to advise you of any additions or changes required to your fusebox, circuit breakers that may be required, or switched spur sockets, ask if any of these need to be in a ‘visible ‘ position so you can plan where to put them. Make sure your electrician is a member of the ….. and will provided the necessary certificates. Also, make sure that he advises you on the ‘circuits’ and makes sure that overloading is avoided and the correct calculations are made, and allowed within your quote.
