First Fix Plumbing
There are 2 main areas of plumbing that are likely to be required in your extension, one for the addition of radiators to your central heating system, the second is water and waste supply for sinks, baths, basins toilets etc. As with the electrician, make sure the plumber is aware of the position of the items you expect him to install. Additional radiators may put excessive demands on the current system, this in turn can result in them not heating your home properly. If a new boiler is required in the long term now be a good time to get it. As with the electricians, make dure your plumber is CORGI registered. This is a legal requirement to work with gas, but today, most reputable plumbers will be registered with CORGI. If you are adding a shower for example make sure the plumber is aware to make sure the correct system is available to fit the shower unit (such variations are gravity or main fed showers/ power showers etc) if you can give the make and model of the shower you intend to install, he will be able to advise what will work best – there is nothing worse than buying a good quality shower, turning it on and expecting to get a good jet of water, just to get a trickle because your shower doesn’t have the correct water pressure!
