Plastering and Dry lining
As your extension is built your walls will need to be finished, ready for decorating.
There are two main types of wall -solid - being built of block or brickwork, as well as the internal skin of any external walls, and stud walls.
A block wall can be plastered straight onto, there are 2 coat and single coat products available, but both will require a plasterer to carry out the work, and the finish should be ready for painting.
Blockwork can also be drylined - this is when plasterboard is fixed to blockwork using dabs of adehsive. These can then be taped and jointed if a tapered edge board is used or have a plaster skim finish.
Studwalls, constructed of timber will have plasterboard fixed either side and can then be skimmed or taped and jointed.
